SEGA‘s roster of popular characters will be speeding towards the finish line once again, as a sequel to Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing is in development. The kart racing sequel had a presence at the New York Toy Fair, where an assortment of related toys and advertising materials were set-up. A booth attendant confirmed the project’s existence to Kotaku, saying that more details (and characters) will be announced later this year.
Released back in 2010, Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing sped its colourful way onto PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PC and DS. While it borrowed some elements from other famous kart racers, the game definitely wasn’t a mediocre clone. In fact, it was polished, well-made and very entertaining. As a result, it’s great to hear that a sequel is on its way.
