Warner Bros is on a role with announcing classic titles for Anniversary re-releases. The two latest films getting the treatment are Stanley Kubrick‘s Full Metal Jacket (25th Anniversary) and John Boorman‘s Deliverance (40th Anniversary). Both films should be coming in June.

Stanley Kubrick‘s Full Metal Jacket is without a doubt one of those most intense war films ever made. The film has already been released on Blu-Ray twice now, with the first release featuring a so-so video transfer and lossy audio. The second release was worth the upgrade, with an uncompressed audio track and a better looking video transfer. This latest 25th Anniversary edition shares the same artwork as the previous release, but it will be housed in a special edition digibook packaging.

In addition to the previously released special features, this new edition will come with a DVD containing the feature-length Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes documentary.

Full Metal Jacket doesn’t have an official release date, but June is starting to sound more likely.

The second film getting re-released is John Boorman‘s Deliverance. In addition to the special edition digibook packaging, the 40th Anniversary disc is confirmed to come with the following special features:

  • Commentary by John Boorman
  •  All-new Deliverance: The Cast Remembers retrospective
  •  Four-part behind-the-scenes documentary:
  •  – Deliverance: Betraying The River
  •  – Deliverance: The Journey
  •  – Deliverance: The Beginning
  •  – Deliverance: Delivered
  •  The Dangerous World of Deliverance vintage featurette
  •  Theatrical trailer

Deliverance will be available to own on June 26th, 2012.
