Former White Stripes frontman and current music mogul – Jack White – revealed in a recent interview that the White Stripes is something that he misses deeply, passing the blame to ex-wife Meg on why the band quit making music.
Although he’s recently confirmed that the White Stripes will never, ever be back together, White says that he’d still be making White Stripes music today if he could, saying:
I’d be in the White Stripes for the rest of my life. That band is the most challenging, important, fulfilling thing ever to happen to me. I wish it was still here. It’s something I really, really miss.
He spends a huge chuck on the interview claiming that ex-wife and co-rocker Meg was difficult to work with, even saying that he was lucky that she ever got onstage. To me, their relationship always seemed kind of twisted, but perhaps that’s what made their music so heart-wrenchingly awesome. And I do miss hearing new White Stripes music, but I guess it’s better that the band ended on a high note, instead of 10 years from now, possibly at their lowest creative point.
