Polyphony Digital’s “real driving simulator” has done it. It has found its way to the top of the UK charts, standing on the head of the mighty titan that is Black Ops. While for some this will be no big surprise as they consider GT5 a more than good enough reasons to buy a PS3 from scratch, and have been patiently sniffing at this title for the best part of…what…3,000,000 years?
Black Ops had been inhaling the pure air from the summit of mount -‘I sold a lot’ for over two weeks until GT5 skidded round the corner, and now it is having to settle for second place this month. I personally cannot stop laughing. As it currently stands, Black Ops is still a far bigger release worldwide and while GT5 is doing admirably, it can’t touch Treyarch’s blockbuster. Yet. So no records broken to upset the cash registers over at Activision, but a small and symbolic victory for our beloved racing franchise, over the Call Of Duty overlord. After all, we Brits do love our cars.
Us gamers are a bit spoiled for choice this season, aren’t we?
01. Gran Turismo 5 (Sony)
02. CoD: Black Ops (Activision)
03. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Ubisoft)
04. FIFA 11 (EA)
05. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft)
06. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (EA)
07. Wii Party (Nintendo)
08. Art Academy (Nintendo)
09. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) Kinect Sports (Microsoft)
10. Fallout: New Vegas
Consider the fact that this is over all platforms…and GT5 is still at the top…
