Ridley Scott Says Harrison Ford Will Appear In The Blade Runner Sequel

As Mr. Ridley Scott finishes up with Prometheus, he's starting to look ahead to one of his future projects, the Blade Runner sequel. Admittedly, the film is still a long ways off as Scott currently has a pretty busy plate. His next film will be The Counselor, starring Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz, which shoots later this year.

As Mr. Ridley Scott finishes up with Prometheus, he’s starting to look ahead to one of his future projects, the Blade Runner sequel.

Admittedly, the film is still a long ways off as Scott currently has a pretty busy plate. His next film will be The Counselor, starring Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz, which shoots later this year.

After that, he’ll likely be able to go ahead with the Blade Runner sequel, granted he doesn’t do a Prometheus sequel first. We found out recently that Hampton Fancher, who wrote the original Blade Runner, will be penning the sequel and it seems as if momentum is starting to pick up on the project. Scott and Fancher have been discussing where they want the story to go and apparently, Scott wants Harrison Ford, who appeared in the original Blade Runner, to have a role in the film.

In a recent interview with the Independent, Scott said that while Ford won’t star, he would still like to have the actor appear in the film.

“I don’t think it’ll be Harrison [starring]. But I’ve got to have him in it somewhere. That’d be amusing,” Scott said.

That’s all the director would spill and there’s no word yet on how Ford’s character would factor into the story or how significant his role would be, but it’s still nice to know that he will very likely be showing up in some capacity.
