Another ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star could be in line for a role in the DCU

Gunn might just be the best friend to have in the superhero world, at the moment.

James Gunn is holding all the aces in the superhero genre after making the move from director of one of the most beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe series to full-on CEO of Warner Bros.’ DC Studios division. One of the perks of this career trajectory is that he gets to call on his favorite Marvel actors to come to the other side if he ever feels like it. Lee Pace, who played Ronan the Accuser in both Guardians of Galaxy and Captain Marvel, could be an option for the future of the DC, the director has revealed.

Gunn was asked by what seems like a Pace super-fan on Twitter if he would ever bring the Pushing Daisies actor into the DC Universe, and the director’s answer was short and straight to the point. “Yes,” was all he had to say about that.

With Gunn ditching many stars of the franchise previously known as the DC Extended Universe, whatever casting calls he makes going forward, especially for pivotal roles like Batman and Superman, will be placed fully under the microscope by the fans. Pace as Bruce Wayne could work, as the 43-year-old actor proved he can do quiet and brooding perfectly in his outing as the Kree warlord.

If Pace does make the leap from MCU to DCU, he wouldn’t be the first actor to follow Gunn from one to the other. Michael Rooker, Sylvester Stallone, and Gunn’s brother Sean Gunn had roles in both the Guardians series as Yondu, Stakar, and Kraglin and The Suicide Squad as Savant, King Shark and Weasel. As Gunn has previously said, “This cast are like my family,” and family sticks together.
