Anthony Mackie had two demands when it comes to Captain America: New World Order: booty shots, and cursing. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest Captain America is apparently touching down in style in the new film, which Mackie has revealed, will have more swear words than any other in the history of the franchise.
Speaking to Josh Horowitz, Mackie said he had yet to read a script for the film, but conceded two tidbits of juicy exclusives. “I’m gonna curse a whole lot in this [film],” the actor teased. He is setting his sight on a Marvel classic to emulate. “I’m going straight Wesley Snipes in Blade,” Mackie added. Ryan Reynolds should watch out too, because it looks like Deadpool 3 will have some competition when it comes to mature content.
With the MCU becoming increasingly kid-friendly this past few years, this change of pace is much welcomed. Mackie says his big hero moments in the film will be followed directly by “I’m Captain America, b*tch.” Yes. Yes, he is.
The second bit of information that Mackie was allowed to share was that his so-called “round brown” is “looking delicious in his spandex.” That’s right, prepare for beaucoup booty in Captain America 4.
Of course, considering Mackie’s playfulness that we all know and love, there’s a high chance these aren’t actually exclusives at all, but we hope that at least a couple of swear words will make it through Disney’s red tape this time around. It would be a pretty cool full circle moment if we went from one Captain America who scolded his team-mates about “Language!” to a new iteration that makes the most out of every foul word the English language has to offer.
“Captain America, b*itch”: New World Order starts shooting next month. It hits theaters May 3, 2024.
