Marjorie Taylor Greene thinks Donald Trump trial will ‘incite civil unrest,’ seemingly forgetting the January 6th insurrection

Has this woman ever told the truth?

As Donald Trump‘s impending indictment inches closer and closer, his supposed allies continue to support him – online. For example, perpetual Republican gasbag Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter to spew more rhetoric-filled posts that like all her other takes, feature no factual evidence at all.

Her latest rant being calling for the arrest of “Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg for prosecutorial misconduct after hiding hundreds of pages of exculpatory evidence.”

Where is this coming from? Shockingly, from a FOX News pundit named Gregg Jarrett. Jarrett said Cohen’s former attorney Robert Costello claims he handed over “nearly all of the files” he was asked for but that the jury didn’t see all of them. This isn’t how courts, juries, or the justice system works.

Juries are presented evidence based on a lawyer’s case. To get from there to “hundreds of pages” is a pretty big leap. Also, this is a FOX News pundit. Remember when they said Dominion was responsible for stolen votes? Yeah, they lied and are getting sued for a billion dollars. Fox News has zero credibility, and Jarrett’s claims are hearsay without any backing evidence.

Here’s the rest of her tweet:

“Bragg is breaking the law and trying to incite civil unrest with his Soros funded political war.” Yes, that’s what he wants to do. Fortunately, these investigations will move forward regardless of how many tweets go out whining about what’s happening.

The Soros thing is another desperate Republican talking point. The connection between Soros and Bragg is factually tenuous. A Soros adviser said the billionaire “has never met or spoken to Alvin Bragg.” Soros apparently donated to a group called Color of Change, which backed Bragg’s campaign. That’s it.

It’s really unfortunate that people take anything this woman says at face value. Literally just a brisk Google search is all it takes to see the truth. However, there is some hope, considering only about a carload of people actually protested for Trump when he called for it this time, but who knows how it’ll play out.

Oh, and the irony of claiming that Bragg is trying to “incite civil unrest” when that’s exactly what Trump did on Jan. 6 should be lost on no one. Telling people to “fight like hell” when an election doesn’t go your way is a lot different than doing your job as a prosecutor to go after criminals. The mental jujitsu required to believe her rhetoric is truly beyond us.

See you next time Greene inevitably lies again.
