Actors love to tease when they build up hype for the projects they are working on, and they’ve developed an exact science for how to whip the fans into a frenzy. When Vincent D’Onofrio tweeted about shooting an “intense” scene for Daredevil: Born Again, he mentions “two of the other cast members” and leaves it at that, which is Marketing 101 for how to drive stans nuts.

Daredevil: Born Again won’t even be out until 2024, when D’Onofrio reprises his role as Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, whom he’s played in Hawkeye in 2021, Daredevil from 2015 to 2018, and he’ll be in an episode of Echo in 2023. Slated for 18 episodes, it appears the Law and Order:Criminal Intent actor will be in every single one of them. Even though he’s a busy man working on feature films such as Wildcat and A Fall from Grace with no release date scheduled yet, as well as Dumb Money and Lift set to come out this year, he’s zipping from project to project and finding time to tweet about his favorite one.

So, he’s excited about the project — check. It has an incredible cast and crew — check. He just did a big scene with two of the other cast members — not a check. He’s just going to say that and keep everyone waiting patiently with bated breath like a drop- the-mic moment at the Apollo?

Only Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal are slated on IMDb for 18 episodes with the Full Metal Jacket actor. Other than that, Sandrine Holt, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, and Nikki James all have been listed with at least one episode. So, it’s anyone’s guess who he shot those intense scenes with, because as the biggest MCU project to hit Disney Plus thus far, the insiders are keeping all information as secret as possible.

All D’Onofrio’s fans care about is that more Kingpin is on the way.

His appearance in an upcoming episode of Echo should wet the whistles of Kingpin fans, as it also sets up for what’s to come next year.

Marvel only promises a Spring 2024 release for Daredevil: Born Again on Disney Plus. It’s hard to tell where it will stream after that, since Daredevil is currently showing on Apple, Vudu, and Prime after being yanked from Netflix in March.
