All eyes are on Taylor Swift and Matty Healy these days after dating rumors about the pair surfaced earlier this month. The 1975 front man has been attending the “Anti-Hero” singer’s tour from town to town, and they were seen holding hands at a members-only club in New York. However, the pair has now stepped out in public together for the first time, despite backlash against Healy making the rounds online.
Swift and Healy recently attended an industry party at Electric Lady Studios in New York, and although they arrived separately, they left together, looking cozy and seemingly owning their relationship. In videos taken at the scene, the rock star can be seen with his hand on Swift’s back as they make their way towards a car.
The relationship, which was reported on a month after Swift’s break-up from boyfriend-of-six-years Joe Alwyn became public, has been attracting criticism, given Healy’s reputation. Fans of the pop star aren’t happy she is associating herself with Healy, believing it reflects poorly on her own values.
The 1975 singer has been accused of antisemitism, racism, and misogyny, among other things. His appearance on The Adam Friedland Show has been the subject of most of the backlash thanks to questionable comments made about Ice Spice and the singer’s porn preferences.
Swift and Healy have been friends since 2014 and share friends in common like producer Jack Antonoff and fellow musician Phoebe Bridgers. They were rumored to be dating back then, too, but Healy vehemently denied any romantic link, despite later describing their relationship as a “flirtation.”
