People are excited about the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s film adaptation. So much so that just a short glimpse of Matthew Lillard’s William Afton was enough to get fans crazy. But, it’s not just the villain that got people excited. A photo of the film’s set was shared on social media, and you bet people wished that this is a real restaurant.
Twitter user Jonny Blox shared a behind-the-scenes image that was originally captured by Dolly Dachshund, of the set of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaria which will undoubtedly be featured heavily in the film. The set featured an 80s to 90s-style family restaurant that looks reminiscent of Chuck E Cheese, whilst scattering references to the iconic indie horror video game.
People were shocked to see that Blumhouse‘s live-action take on the infamous restaurant for the sake of lovingly recreating the source video game. But knowing how high the bar video game movies and TV shows had in the past few years, it made sense why so much effort has gone into it.
Aside from Matthew Lillard, Five Nights at Freddy’s will also star Josh Hutcherson as the night guard, Mike Schmidt. The film is based on the indie horror video game of the same name, which was released back on Aug. 8, 2014. This horror film is about a night security guard who has to endure the night shifts in this haunted pizzeria as its animatronics come to life and become bloodthirsty.
If you’re excited to see this horror video game come to life on the big screen, Five Nights at Freddy’s will be released in theaters and Peacock on Oct 27, 2023.
