Just two weeks after his father’s coronation, which happens to be a moment that King Charles III waited several decades for, Prince William is already discussing the details of his own coronation.
A source close to Prince William told ET Online that William is already considering certain aspects of his coronation, including his desire to upgrade the ceremony to be “more modern.”
King Charles, however, also attempted a more modern approach but apparently not modern enough, according to the Prince. Though, his father seemed to struggle to book British acts for his coronation, and has received less of a supportive response from the public than his mother, Queen Elizabeth, received throughout her lengthy reign.
Sources close to the royal family have stated that Charles is concerned about how he is viewed. He allegedly expressed unhappiness about Australia deciding not to honor him on their bank notes as they did his mother.
Of course, King Charles has also had legendary tantrums throughout his time as Prince, which he may not realize likely helps shapes people’s opinion of him. A gracious King is he? The public shrugs in response.
Prince William, who will certainly not be Prince for as long as his father was, figures not to wait until he is crowned to plan out his coronation. We just hope that the ceremony grounds don’t include a portion of the lawn shaped like a phallus, as was the case when his dad was crowned. Perhaps it will take place during Halloween so that Prince William can dress like his ancestor, Dracula (yes, they’re related).
Of course, in his defense, he is simply discussing such things about the future with others around him, though the Prince seems unaware that what he says many people will leak to the media.
King Charles’ coronation differed from his mother’s, though they were also 70 years apart, and Prince William apparently also wishes for his coronation to differ from his father’s, allegedly claiming that he wants the ceremony to be “relevant,” suggesting that his father’s perhaps missed the mark.
Likely in a realization of how bad such a report could look about Prince William already thinking of the plans of his coronation, the source close to the him added that despite him discussing such details, that he is focused on the present. He concluded specifically, “The Prince of Wales is focused on the work today rather than looking into the future.”
Maybe he will send out RSVP’s soon.
