Over the last several weeks, television fanatics as far as the eye can see have been waiting with bated breath for the face-numbing finale of Succession to air. In the aftermath of the much-anticipated ending, fans online have been buzzing about the acclaimed series. But while the majority of the internet continues to rant and rave about the show’s success, horror novelist Stephen King was completely unapologetic in admitting that he isn’t a fan.

Over on his official Twitter account, the 75-year-old author, who typically finds himself caught in online beefs with Republican figures, ventured out of the political landscape and set his sights on the television series. In his tweet, King mentioned a New York Times article that questioned why anybody should care that the show is over, to which King insisted that “a lot of us” don’t care. In the past, King has spoken highly about a variety of engaging series, so the backlash for Succession does come as a bit of a surprise. Then again, when you’re a highly successful author worth millions, you’re allowed the luxury of being picky, and it’s obvious that the HBO project isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

But even despite the series not having King situated in the fandom, the show managed to triumph for four seasons in total, all while securing numerous nominations and award wins. Who knows? Maybe King will give it a second chance somewhere down the line. Until then, fans can stream Succession on HBO Max right now.
