MCU fanatics are complaining about Ms. Marvel’s face ahead of ‘The Marvels’ and for once they’re right

No word on if Vellani feels the same.

In a few months, The Marvels will release to the disappointment of weird dudes who have YouTube channels with videos which feature them frowning in the thumbnails everywhere. Most normal people are curious to see how it will do, do not tailor their lives around hate for Brie Larson and, now, for a change, these two groups can justifiably hate how Ms. Marvel’s face looks on a figurine.

Today Marvel put out the above tweet advertising toys for the project which will later be released by Hasbro under their “Marvel Legends” series. While Larson and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau look close to their flesh-and-blood counterparts, the head on Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan bears more of a resemblance to a young Rachel Dratch with a too-high forehead and eyebrows too close together and, for one critic, he sees the ghost of a famous Spider-Man villain instead of the young and growing actress here.

Elsewhere in the discourse, others claim the sculpt looks like ass while trolls say these will sell as well as the Rose Tico Star Wars character who an audience of grown men could not tolerate when she made her appearance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. A different user says the Captain America figure on offer more closely resembles the Unimpressed Man meme and, in the quoted re-tweets, sentiment is similar. Many are not even mentioning the Ms. Marvel figure and instead say only two of the trio are worthwhile.

Vellani has not responded to how her figure looks as of this story’s filing. The Marvels releases Nov. 10. It will feature many new and returning players and, perhaps most importantly, Goose, the flerken who resembles a cat will be back for more misadventure.
