Netflix’s Top 10 chart for the week of June 5 to June 11 is out now, and the movie sitting at the top is surprisingly a decade old! The weekly charts are released by the streaming service in four different categories to make the rankings fair; Films (English), Films (Non-English), TV (English), and TV (Non-English). This week’s victory for the most-watched title in the former category has gone to Hugh Jackman‘s most disturbed thriller Prisoners from 2013.

With a total of 13,890,000 viewing hours, the intricate psychological thriller has triumphed over Mark Wahlberg’s 2007 film Shooter, which ranks close behind Prisoners with 12,770,000 hours. Completing the list are Abduction (2011), The Mother (2023), The Boss Baby (2017), We’re the Millers (2013), The Angry Birds Movie (2016), The Company Men (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013), and The Choice (2016).

Directed by Denis Villenueve, Prisoners follows the abduction of two young girls in Pennsylvania, and the subsequent search for the perpetrator by the police. The intricate and twisted plot paired with intense performances from Jackman as Keller Dover and Jake Gyllenhaal as Detective Loki made the film a commercial success, with a total box office collection of $122 million worldwide. It was also chosen by the National Board of Review as one of the Top 10 films of 2013. And as it seems, history repeats itself after a decade as Prisoners get featured in another similar list now.

The complex mystery thriller has been on the charts for two weeks now. It features an ensemble cast including Jackman, Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano. Catch the film on Netflix today!
