Good news for Bryan Cranston fans, who will get to see him on screen in the future as the 67 year-old actor has made it very clear that he isn’t retiring permanently, but is rather going to be on a sabbatical for a few years.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on this subject, Cranston said that he hasn’t decided as of now as to how he is specifically planning on spending time with his wife Robin Dearden, or what kind of endeavors they will engage in together.
However, the actor confessed that a few years away is going to be an escape from his regular hectic schedules. “We haven’t mapped it out. We’re thinking about [taking] a few years to come, just to kind of escape for a little bit and reacquaint with each other.”
This clarification is in response to the last month’s endless popular speculation about Cranston leaving the acting world for good, after the actor mentioned selling his brand and production company Moonshot Entertainment to live a life of leisure.
This isn’t the case, and the actor clarified that the forthcoming break will be the right time to devote an undivided attention to married life.
“It’s now been 34 years that we’ve been married, and I wanna just adjust the dynamic that we have between us. It’s been a whirlwind for me for the past 25 years, and she’s been going with me everywhere and I just kind of want to even it out so it’s not so [one-sided].”
Cranston – famed for his role as Walter White in AMC’s Breaking Bad – claimed to have left “unfinished business” as a gift for fans; namely Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, where he stars alongside some of the industry’s behemoths like Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, and Maya Hawke.
