Speaking of being swept off of our feet, we’re also thrilled with the idea of a new Pixar short film that we’ll soon be able to see in theaters; a new journey with two of our favorite characters in the Disney umbrella is exactly what our hearts need right now — and there’s no time like the summer to dive into the idea of new love stories. While there’s a distinct difference between Secret Invasion and Carl’s Date — we have a feeling that anyone who loves Disney will enjoy both projects.

In addition to two exciting projects with a premiere in just a couple of days, there’s another piece of news that fans of the holidays will enjoy, and we’ve got it all for you below. So grab your favorite Disney mug, blanket, and sweater, because we’re diving headfirst into the magic.

Samuel L. Jackson isn’t a Skrull…right?

We’re one week away from the premiere of Secret Invasion, and Jackson was confronted with a long-believed fan theory on a red carpet event for the series. That’s right, Jackson was confronted with the idea that he might be a Skrull, and when he was asked to prove that he wasn’t — his method of doing so was foolproof.

Jackson’s response was right on the money as he asked to be given just a moment to try to turn into something else. Of course, this wasn’t possible, and he laughed as he felt he’d completed the task at hand. He couldn’t will himself to become anyone other than Samuel L. Jackson, and that’s that.

That being said, Jackson is the greatest, so even if he were a Skrull, we have a feeling he’d not want to transform into anyone else anyway. On this one, however, we’re choosing to believe him — Secret Invasion streams on Disney Plus next week, and we’ll soon learn the official status of Nick Fury, too.

We’re gearing Up for an exciting adventure with Dug and Carl

The official trailer for an exciting new Disney/Pixar adventure is all we’ve been thinking about in the lead-up to the debut of the new film, Elemental. On its own, the movie looks like the perfect summer watch for fans of Pixar animated stories, but there’s something special debuting alongside it.

Disney debuted one of its most iconic films in May of 2009, and it captivated audiences from the very first time we sat down to watch it. There’s something inherently special about a love story, and Disney/Pixar’s Up is the epitome of a beautiful journey through love in all of its forms. As adoring audiences know, the special bond that Carl and Ellie shared was the kind of love that transcends, and even in her eventual illness and passing, Carl was hell-bent on keeping a promise to her. So as he geared up to travel to Paradise Falls, a few kinks appeared in his best-laid plans, and it took him on another layer of a journey with love — in a new way this time around.

Carl would go on to form a special bond with a dog named Dug, and that is where the next chapter of this story picks up. A short film titled Carl’s Date is set to air in theaters before Elemental, and we can’t wait to see both. In the next installment of an already incredible love story comes Carl as he sets off to go on his first date since the passing of Ellie, and we’ve already stocked up on tissues. There’s nothing more heartwarming than a man, his dog, and a new journey in love.

Disney is celebrating halfway to the holidays

Before we get started, we know there are some people out there who will shake their heads at even the mention of the holiday season this early. Yes, we realize we’ve not yet experienced the first day of summer, but we’re halfway to the holidays, and in our opinion, it’s never too early for a little Christmas magic.

Disney has been sharing info for the upcoming holiday season and will continue to do so through tomorrow, with Disney’s cruise line and Disneyland being the first up. So far, we’ve learned of exciting new itineraries for the cruise line, seen a sneak peek at the holiday get-ups Mickey and Minnie will don this year, and been given a peek at some of the merchandise available when the holidays roll around.

Walt Disney World holiday announcements are on the way tomorrow, and we’ll bring you the details as soon as we can. Until then, we’re not judging you if you’re singing Christmas carols for the rest of the afternoon; we know we will be.
