Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is due at the end of the month, and regardless of whether it does the proper justice to the Jones films of yore or not, we have no doubt that watching Harrison Ford bring this legendary character full circle will offer a unique satisfaction that only a storied IP of this caliber could.

For 42 years, George Lucas’ high-octane magic-realism films have captured the adventurous spirits of fans for generations, and we can only hope that Dial of Destiny gives Indy’s youngest fans-in-the-making something brand new to giddily daydream about.

Of course, even if Indy is capable of stealing the show all on his own, the supporting cast of the Indiana Jones films have a history of winning hearts in their own right, and Helena Shaw, the cheeky, fast-talking schemer who’s set to fill the dubious sidekick role in Dial of Destiny, looks more than ready to carry that particular torch.

In an interview with ComicBook, Phoebe Waller-Bridge revealed her hopes for Helena to be an influential figure for younger generations, noting how she wished she had someone like Helena to watch when she was growing up.

“But I wish I’d seen Helena. I mean, luckily I had Marion, but I also wish I’d seen Helena, because she’s complicated and she’s a match for him. But she also has her own agenda with she’s an opportunist. She sees Indy unsentimentally as her godfather and very much as an opportunity to help her get what she wants. And the fun thing is having two people have to go on an adventure and they have to work together when everything in them wants to actually be apart from each other. It’s sort of the perfect spice for comedy.”

It looks like Helena is going to help solve as many problems as she creates for her curmudgeonly godfather; a character ethos that’s sure to launch her to “iconic” status in record time. And who knows? If the the world of Indiana Jones decides to live past its eponymous hero, who’s to say that Helena won’t have the main character mantle passed on to her as she seeks out more adventure?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will release to theaters on June 30.
