There’s a lot of macho posturing that goes on in Hollywood, but in what sounds like the buildup to a bad joke, the only real loser when Chris Hemsworth and Arnold Schwarzenegger walk into a room together are the dumbbells in the nearest gym.
While the Austrian Oak isn’t quite the imposing physical specimen he was during his day – which can be forgiven seeing as he turns 76 years old in a few weeks – he’s in terrifying shape for a man of his advancing years, something he was keen to remind a misplaced troll who dared question the majesty of his veteran biceps.
On the other hand, Hemsworth is at his peak as his contractually-obligated shirtless scenes as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thor keep reminding everyone, and it was inevitable that the dynamic duo would end up hitting the weight room together seeing as they’re both currently in Brazil for Netflix’s TUDUM event, which kicks off later today.
Now that Schwarzenegger has become part of the Netflix family – which is almost certain to result in a second season of smash hit action comedy series FUBAR being unveiled in just a few hours – maybe he can be roped into the expanding Extraction universe. After all, if you need somebody to pass the baton onto the new generation of badass action heroes, then who better than arguably the greatest of all-time?
If Sylvester Stallone is capable of admitting that Arnold was the superior of the two, then it’s hard to argue with the icon’s number one competitor, who eventually became one of his very best friends.
