His father being a professional wrestler meant that his family was constantly uprooted and moved around the country, giving the youngster little chance to bed in and become accustomed to his surroundings. As a result, he’d often find himself in trouble as a teenager, matters that weren’t helped by the fact he was gigantic even then.

Reflecting on his tearaway years, Johnson hopped onto Twitter to take a stroll down memory lane when he stumbled upon an old photo of himself at 15 years old, even though he definitely looked a decade older regardless of how unconvincing the questionable mustache was as an accessory.

It’s remarkable to consider that he’s now a certified legend of the professional wrestling industry, an A-list Hollywood superstar, a tequila magnate, the co-owner of a football league and plenty more besides when the halcyon days of 1987 saw him locked up after engaging in a foot chase with the police for stealing, right before the entire Johnson clan were kicked out of their family home.

He calls himself “the hardest worker in the room” for a reason, and it’s easy to see why when you consider the trials and tribulations he battled through in order to become the global success story that he is today. Maybe there’s hope for all of us yet, even if there aren’t many 15 year-olds that come along in quite the same dimensions.
