Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know about Henry Cavill’s role as Geralt going to Liam Hemsworth after The Witcher season three. If you’ve been wondering how that will work, you’re not the only one as the cast has no clue, either.

Ahead of the third season dropping on Netflix tomorrow, Variety interviewed Anya Chalotra who plays Yennefer, sorceress and love interest of Henry Cavill’s Geralt in the hit show. The actress spoke about the inevitable changeover and how she feels about Liam Hemsworth taking the lead as of season four.

“I wonder how they’re going to do it. I haven’t read anything, so I really do wonder how they’re going to bring this character into the audience’s life who have been with us for five years. I’m excited; it’s all unknown.”

So, it sounds like she’s in the dark, too — just like the rest of us. Chalotra revealed that she hadn’t spoken to Hemsworth, at least not in person; the pair had talked over emails, though, and we’re sure they’ll get the opportunity soon enough. It’s somewhat risky, considering neither actor has had the opportunity to test out their chemistry yet, something which Chalotra and Cavill undeniably had.

“We haven’t had a chemistry test. I wasn’t part of that process [of his casting]. But I’m very excited to see what his Geralt is. And only then will we realize what dynamics we have as a group.”

The whole situation clearly took most of the cast by surprise as it wasn’t even revealed that Cavill wouldn’t be returning until they wrapped shooting on the third season. It may be a while before production for the fourth season gets underway, so hopefully, that will give the cast time to figure out how they’re going to get used to a new Geralt. It’s sad to see Henry Cavill leave the show, and there has been a severe backlash to the recasting, but there’s no reason to think the show’s quality will dip.
