Let's remind everyone of the definitive version that likely won't be beaten, shall we?

One of the most irritating recurring tropes of any legacy sequel and/or reboot is to trot out a cavalcade of familiar faces for no other reason than to have audiences around the world recreate the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme, but Daniel Radcliffe is smart enough to know that.

There’s already enough backlash surrounding Warner Bros.’ reboot of Harry Potter as a streaming series to contend with, so bringing back anybody who starred in the original and widely-beloved eight-film saga – regardless of how big or small their role proved to be – is only going to remind everyone that it’s going to be very difficult to top it.

Of course, Radcliffe would have known from the second the project was first announced that he’d be spending the next years of his life batting away the cameo question, and he handled it about as diplomatically as possible when it arose in an interview with ComicBook.

“My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh and I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it and probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere. So I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.”

That’s about the politest way of telling somebody to “f*ck off” you’ll ever hear, but we never expected anything else from the consummate gentleman and definitive iteration of The Boy Who Lived.
