After decades of harsh scrutiny and obsessive media coverage, Britney Spears is finally telling her story, her way.
The release of her book, The Woman In Me, is providing the Princess of Pop with a long-overdue opportunity to share details about her life. Spears has been under a microscope for decades, and we’ve heard a lot of versions of her story — but they rarely come from Spears herself. Nearly two years following the dissolution of a lengthy conservatorship that controlled Spears’ life and income, she’s branching out into new projects, and cluing fans into what her life looked like during those difficult years.
Its also revealing quite a few details about Spears’ personal life that, until now, were unknown to the public. Details about her relationship with with various famous faces, including Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell, are generating particular interest, as Spears dishes on drama sometimes more than 20 years old.
When were Britney Spears and Colin Farrell together?
Contained within the pages of Spears’ new tell-all book are a number of racy stories and juicy details about the singer’s life. Revelations about her relationship with Justin Timberlake already tantalized the internet, and now details about the relationship Spears entered just after their break-up are enthralling the web once again. Many people knew Spears briefly shacked up with Colin Farrell, but no one knew the nitty gritty details.
The pair enjoyed a short-lived fling back in 2003, not long after Spears and Timberlake called it quits. Spears was still working to detach herself from Timberlake when she met Farrell, who was working on S.W.A.T. at the time. She described their two week relationship as a “brawl” in her new book, noting that “brawl is the only word for it — we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight.”
She also explained that, due to her continued vulnerability over her breakup with Timberlake, she worked to avoid getting too attached. Farrell was clearly in the same camp, explaining in a 2003 interview that there was “nothing going on” between he and Spears. They were, according to Farrell “just mates.”
At the time of their short-lived fling, Spears was 21 years old, and Farrell was 26.
