THQ announced today that early birds who pick up a launch copy of Metro: Last Light next March (or those who pre-order the game) will find that they have a specially marked “Limited Edition” version that includes three digital bonuses.
The first bonus is an unspecified number of in-game “military grade bullets” that can be used to purchase weapon upgrades, equipment, or to waste on killing an enemy. Early adopters will also get the AKS-74U, which in real life is a short barrel version of the red-commie AKS-74 rifle. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, THQ announced that the Limited Edition will give players the option of playing the game’s Ranger Mode. For those that missed out on Metro 2033‘s Ranger Mode, this means that you can play the game with less ammo, no HUD, and deadlier weapons.
Sony also announced today that anyone who pre-orders the Limited Edition of Metro: Last Light over the PlayStation Network will get an exclusive Metro Theme along with a free digital copy of THQ’s Homefront.
Metro: Last Light is currently scheduled to launch sometime in March 2013 for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The full press release announcing the Limited Edition bonuses is posted below.
