Through a colourful-looking trailer, Press Play’s Max: The Curse of Brotherhood (Xbox 360) was given time in the spotlight during Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Releasing sometime this spring, according to earlier reports, with a 1200 Microsoft Point price tag, the game centres upon a young boy who wishes away his brother, then must save him once his misguided hope becomes a reality.

A platformer featuring colourful visuals that mix an animated film’s look with darker themes more akin to LIMBO, the title, which just so happens to be a spiritual successor to Max and the Magic Marker, looks like one to keep an eye on. Its stage design looks creative, its premise is iconic and its similarities to the David Bowie film Labyrinth add to its intrigue.
