The stakes on Pretty Little Liars have never been higher now that ‘A’ is intent on sending Hannah’s mom to the slammer and proving, once and for all, that she is the baddest ‘B’ in town.
Last week’s episode ended with Hannah (Ashley Benson) standing by helplessly as the police arrested her mother on suspicion of murder. The arrest didn’t come as any big surprise. It was only a matter of time before all the evidence pointed in her direction, and Hannah surely didn’t help matters. Her instinct to protect her mother was understandable, but now she’s paying the consequences for not thinking her plan all the way through.
If ‘A’ excels at anything, it’s catching mistakes. Not only did Hannah walk right into an ‘A’ set-up – as per usual – but she did a pretty good job setting herself up in the process. It’s hard to say how long it would have taken the police to find the gun on their own, but Hannah definitely helped to speed up the process. Does anyone else still cringe at the thought of how many times Hannah left her fingerprints on the gun?
Good thing Hannah’s boyfriend is better at being sneaky than she is. Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is doing his manly duty and protecting his lady, a bit more actively than usual. He teamed up with fellow Liar boyfriend, Toby (Keegan Allen), to get to the bottom of what happened at Thornhill and to find out who is really responsible for killing Wilden. Will the guys be able to solve the case before a jury finds Ms. Marin (Laura Leighton) guilty? It would be quite a victory for the Liars, and let’s face it, they need all the wins they can get at this point.
Hannah isn’t the only one dealing with the consequences of a plan not well thought out. Emily (Shay Mitchell) made a split-second decision that put her right in ‘A’s’ line of fire. Considering that they didn’t even find anything of merit at Wilden’s apartment – except that ‘A’ was probably targeting him as well, no shock there – it seems like in hindsight she made the wrong decision.
Emily isn’t the only one that’s going to have to pay for this mistake though. Her mother is now on suspension from her job at Rosewood PD after the key was discovered missing. Emily may have had the intention of putting it back, but she wasn’t fast enough. My guess is that ‘A’ tipped off the cops, but it could have just been a routine check at the wrong time. Aside from potentially losing her job, now the Field’s have to worry about the car that is literally parked in their living room. Did it look like it could have been a police car to anyone else?
