In an effort to further establish its device as the number one platform for Call of Duty content, Microsoft has partnered with Activision to bring a Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox One console bundle to retail.

Announced by Microsoft during the company’s GamesCom presser, the noted bundle is said to include a copy of the game and some bonus DLC, in addition to the necessary Xbox One console and its much talked-about new Kinect sensor. However, though Call of Duty: Ghosts is slated for release on November 5, no purchasing details were provided in relation to this special bundle. It is, however, safe to assume that it will release alongside the core console, sometime this November.

Hearing this news didn’t raise my heartbeat at all. After all, Microsoft has partnered with Activision and its incredibly successful military franchise for years now, and has received timed exclusivity on downloadable content as a result. This is just the next evolution of that agreement, which will also see the Xbox One platform receive Ghosts‘ DLC packs before any of its competitors.

That’s all we have for now but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on future Call of Duty: Ghosts updates as they arise.

What’s most exciting about the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts is that the game will take advantages of Microsoft’s dedicated Cloud servers. That’s another thing we learned today, and it’s great news for those who spend most of their gaming time with the venerable military franchise. It’s not all we learned, though, as the companies also unveiled a new multiplayer mode called Blitz, which tasks each team with controlling one end of a map. If any opponents make it through to your team’s end, a point is awarded, and those insurgents are then sent back to where they started, so that they can try for another score.
