Let’s say you’re Robert Rodriguez and you’ve just launched an English-language channel aimed at Latino audiences. How do you make the channel stand out among the hundreds of other options most cable subscribers have? Well, taking one of your most popular films and adapting it into a TV series to run on your new network is certainly a good start. Rodriguez is a guy with some series business savvy, so that’s exactly what he has done with From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

Rodriguez’s channel, El Ray Network, just released the first full trailer for the show, and fans of the original will notice a few similarities and differences between the film and the TV series. For instance: a few of George Clooney’s signature lines from the movie are used in the show, but it’s not George Clooney saying them. Quentin Tarantino is nowhere to be found, either.

Instead, the parts of the Gecko Brothers are played by D.J. Cotrona and Zane Holtz. Rounding out the cast are Jesse Garcia, Don Johnson, Robert Patrick, Jake Busey, Madison Davenport and Brandon Soo Hoo. Don Johnson is probably the most recognizable name in the cast and will play Texas Ranger Earl McGraw, who is tasked with hunting the Gecko Brothers down amidst all the unexpected vampirism.

The trailer doesn’t give much away as far as plot is concerned, but it does give the general impression that there will be lots of blood, lots of violence and some sexy, seductive vampires.

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series will premiere on Tuesday, March 11th at 9pm ET/PT.

Will this series land El Rey Network on the map, or will its attempts to win over fans of the original film fall flat? Check out the trailer below and then keep scrolling on down to the comments section to let us know what you think.
