Ever experts in building hype, the cats at HBO have released a fully-fledged preview featurette in celebration of the upcoming Game of Thrones season 4 premiere. EntitledĀ The Foreshadowing, it not only gives us a glimpse at what will unfold in the coming season but also depicts some of the cast answering questions from fans on Twitter. Showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss also discuss plans regarding the future direction of the show, which fans of the novels will know to be chaotic, to say the least.

While a fifteen minute preview seems pretty fatuous, it is remarkably in-depth. Scenes from the novels appear present and correct, including the ever-growing dragons, King Joffrey’s wedding to Margaery Tyrell and the increasingly strained relationship between Ser Jorah Mormont and Daenerys Targaryan. Most excitingly of all there is a very short but still tantalizing glimpse of what happens with Tyrion this season. If you’re a Game of Thrones fan and you know what’s coming up, then you’re duty-bound to watch this featurette.

We’ve still got a little while yet before the show returns but HBO are doing a perfect job building word of the series across social media. Not since Lost has a TV show been talked about on such a worldwide scale, andĀ this season is sure to be as big a hit as the others proved themselves to be.

Because we’re so nice, we’ve embedded the video below so you can watch to your heart’s content, but take heed: if you do choose to click through to YouTube, there’s some pretty huge spoilers in the comments (as you’d expect from YouTube troll scum), so exert caution.

Game of Thrones returns April 6th, and remember – valar morghulis.
