In a move that shouldn’t surprise a single Marvel fan, reports are claiming that Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron will screen an exciting trailer at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, containing the very first footage from the highly anticipated super-sequel.
Yes, can you believe it? Marvel, one of the biggest Hollywood hype machines at the moment, will reveal a first look at their newest superhero property during the biggest convention of comic book fans and cinema junkies – SURPRISE! The Marvel panel is the event to beat every year, and it looks like everyone else is going to have their work cut out for them yet again. If you remember back to SDCC 2013, a short teaser was shown, but since filming hadn’t even started yet, it turned out to be nothing but an Ultron confirmation.
While this is nothing but news meant to build excitement with SDCC 2014 approaching, new rumors are also suggesting what we might see unfold during the post-credit sequences of both Avengers: Age Of Ultron and James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy.
With all this talk of a possible Hulk standalone movie, as well as beefed up roles for the lesser-used heroes in The Avengers, sources are hinting that we’ll be getting a scene that will tie into Ruffalo’s own Hulk movie as well as an Iron Man 4. If we’re to believe the leaked plot details of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, once again by notorious Marvel debunker Latino Review, this would play into Hulk’s more prominent presence, as well as Ruffalo’s own wishes for an independent Hulk adventure.
The Guardians Of The Galaxy post-credits situation is a little more cut and dry, as reports are suggesting Richard Rider aka Nova will appear with Josh Brolin as Thanos, answering many people’s questions as to how much Thanos we’ll actually be seeing in Gunn’s film. Sites are also reporting that Nathan Fillion’s cameo will in fact be the part of Nova, but Gunn took to Twitter to shoot this hopeful dream down – if he’s really telling the truth, that is. Fillion is also being rumored to play Green Lantern for DC, so if he were to play Nova, this certainly would reduce his chances of joining the Justice League any time soon.
Those post-credits grumbles are all just chatter though, with the only certain piece of Marvel news today being the obvious choice to let SDCC 2014 release the first footage from Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Looks like you Avengers fans can rest easy until late July, but be sure to check back here immediately after Marvel’s panel to see your favorite superheroes assemble once again!
