In 2011, director Jake Kasdan gave us the raunchy comedy Bad Teacher, which starred Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz. Opening to modest reviews and a decent box office haul, the trio has reunited now for Sex Tape, another R-rated comedic romp that follows a couple who decide to make a sex tape in order to spice up their love life. However, things go awfully wrong when they realize that their little film has made its way onto the web and is about to be made public for all to see. Now, they must race against the clock in order to make sure that their steamy little secret stays just that, a secret.
Our very own Matt Donato reviewed the film earlier this week, giving it 3/5 stars and saying the following about it:
On a scale of “Kim Kardashian” to “Fred Durst,” Sex Tape clocks in at a “Tila Tequila” – meaning, despite being a trashy mess, we still can’t peel our eyes away for some reason.
Last week at the film’s LA press day, we sat down with Segel, Diaz and co-star Ellie Kemper to discuss their hilarious new comedy. They spoke about what they hope people take away from the film, how Jason helped Cameron with her nude scene, Rob Lowe’s awesome supporting character, and much more.
Check it all out in the video below, and be sure to catch Sex Tape when it hits theatres this Friday!
