Though it’s been rumored for some time now, we finally have confirmation (well, kind of) that Léa Seydoux has signed on for Bond 24. The news comes to us from Baz Bamigboye over at The Daily Mail, and while the studio has yet to comment, there’s no real reason to doubt it at this point. Apparently, she’ll be playing a femme fatale, but aside from that, we have no other details on her role.
The actress is no stranger to big-budget action films, despite the fact that she doesn’t often appear in Hollywood productions. On her resume you’ll find Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Robin Hood and Inglourious Basterds, to name but a few of her American roles. It’s her long list of French credits, however, that she’s most well known for. Blue is the Warmest Colour sticks out immediately, but the actress has also done excellent work in foreign films like The Beautiful Person and Sister.
As for her role as a femme fatale in a Bond movie, well, I can actually kind of see that working out well and am definitely interested to see how she approaches the role. We all know that this particular franchise is known for having some excellent femme fatals, so the actress definitely has her work cut out for her. Hopefully she’ll be up to the task.
Set to open on November 6th, 2015, Bond 24 will star Seydoux alongside Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris. With cameras set to roll in December, you can expect to hear more on the casting front shortly.
