With location shooting in Detroit now firmly behind them, the production team on Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice are gearing up to begin filming in a whole new environment ahead of the film’s 2016 release.

And while early reports suggested that Africa was next up for the camera crew, it appears the recent Ebola outbreak has forced Warner Bros.’ ensemble piece to relocate to New Mexico. Specifically, Batman V Superman has now set up shop in Deming — a location that has hosted a variety of movies in the past, including Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Given that Snyder’s Man of Steel quasi-sequel is arguably the biggest film in production right now, it was only a matter of time before set photos were leaked. In fact, Albuqerque’s KOAT 7 news channel has published a report along with an aerial shot of what appears to be a giant structure in the middle of New Mexico’s arid outback.

Rumors are swirling that this is our first glimpse at either Aquaman’s underwater kingdom or, more likely, Wonder Woman’s homeland, Themyscira. While the image itself is somewhat grainy, it definitely appears to be some kind of fortress or outpost that could host either of the aforementioned heroes. Of course, this is all conjecture at this stage and it’s worth taking those claims with a grain of salt.

If you missed it yesterday, DC and Warner Bros. published an array of superhero-related tidbits, mapping out the studio’s release schedule all the way up to 2020 — capping off with a Green Lantern reboot.

Back to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, though, Zack Snyder’s much-anticipated world-builder is expected to debut on March 26th, 2015. In the meantime, you can share your thoughts on the purported New Mexican fortress in the comments.
