Figures published by UK-based retail analyst GfK have revealed that FIFA 15, the latest (and, arguably, greatest) entry into EA Sports’s seemingly evergreen franchise, has held on to the number one spot for the fourth consecutive week.

In doing so, the footie sim held off strong competition from the recently-released The Evil Within and Gearbox Software’s Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which debuted in second and third, respectively.

1) FIFA 15
2) The Evil Within
3) Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
4) Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor
5) Forza Horizon 2
6) Alien: Isolation
7) Destiny
8) DriveClub
9) Minecraft PlayStation Edition
10) F1 2014

Joining the aforementioned duo on the list of newcomers was Codemasters’ F1 2014, itself rounding off this week’s standings at tenth. As for the rest of this week’s entries, it was largely business as usual, with the likes of Destiny, Forza Horizon 2 and Minecraft: PlayStation Edition — which enjoyed a boon in sales thanks to its recent release on PS4 — making up the middle of the charts.

Elsewhere, Monolith Productions’ acclaimed RPG, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor continues to pull in sale, and holds on to fourth place. However, with no major releases from here until the long-awaited launch of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare at the beginning of November, it seems FIFA 15 will hold on to the crown for another few weeks at least.

Tell us, do you think that FIFA 15 can emulate the success of its predecessor and remain in the pole position of the UK’s all-format charts for twelve weeks or more? Let us know below.
