When the first footage for Avengers: Age of Ultron arrived online — ahead of time, mind you — it sent the Internet into a tailspin. Fan theories began to gain traction, lawsuits were filed and people across the interwebs applauded the gravitas of James Spader’s dulcet, wholly unnerving tones as he brought the titular AI to life.
Now, though, Marvel has formally unveiled the extended clip for next year’s superhero sequel, one which contains a host of never-before-seen footage. Granted, it follows along the same patch as last month’s teaser, staying true to Ultron’s menacing voiceover. However, there is definitely some new interspersed with the old, as this footage showcases Iron Man mid-flight, Ultron summoning two of his minions in the refurbished Stark Tower and Black Widow examining Loki’s all-powerful scepter — which, as it happens, turns out to be one of the Infinity Stones.
Plus, the extended trailer puts one burning question to bed once and for all: the mystery woman who is seen at the Avengers party is Korean actress Claudia Kim. Alas, we’re unsure how she filters into the plot of Avengers: Age of Ultron, but it seems safe to assume that she’ll have a similar role to Maria Hill as the pair adapt to life post-S.H.I.E.L.D.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will blast into theaters on May 1st, 2015.
