First Look At Gambit Starring Colin Firth & Cameron Diaz

Hot off his very deserved win for The King's Speech, Colin Firth is back on shooting another interesting project with Cameron Diaz, which is currently shooting in London. Gambit is a remake of a 1960's crime caper starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, it's scripted by the Coen Brothers and is being shot by Michael Hoffman. Co-starring are Stanley Tucci, Cloris Leachman, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay.

Hot off his very deserved win for The King’s Speech, Colin Firth is back on shooting another interesting project with Cameron Diaz, which is currently shooting in London. Gambit is a remake of a 1960’s crime caper starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, it’s scripted by the Coen Brothers and is being shot by Michael Hoffman. Co-starring are Stanley Tucci, Cloris Leachman, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay.

The film was lost and considered to be dead years ago despite the Coens and Colin Firth being attached. If one were to be cynical, the project perhaps came back up again because of Firth’s humongous rise to success after being Oscar nominated for A Single Man. And his look in this photo is not exactly dissimilar to George Falconer.

But to see a good crime caper with this cast and scripted by my personal favourite directors is certainly something I’m looking forward too. Read the synopsis below:

Colin Firth plays British art curator Harry Deane, who devises a finely-crafted scheme to con England’s richest man and avid art collector, Lionel Shabandar, (Rickman) into purchasing a fake Monet painting. In order to bait his buyer, he recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Diaz) to cross the pond and pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of WWII.
