Shortly after revealing details on Game of Thrones, Telltale Games has changed gears to focus on another of the studio’s episodic titles currently brewing in development: Tales from the Borderlands.
Inspired by Gearbox Software’s wonderfully meta franchise, the series was initially revealed late last year and since then, we’ve gradually learned more about Telltale’s space-faring adventure, after details on the game’s rather eye-catching voice cast emerged. Now, though, the studio has revealed the first footage for Tales from the Borderlands, which hints at the vault hunting storyline that will underpin Telltale’s new franchise.
Maintaining the gleefully violent nature from its galactic forebearers, the trailer also reveals some of the leading stars of the upcoming series, which is to take place on Pandora after the events of Borderlands 2. Here’s a round-up of the voice actors:
Troy Baker (Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, The Last of Us) – Rhys
Nolan North (Uncharted, Assassin’s Creed) – August
Laura Bailey (Saints Row IV, The Last of Us) – Fiona
Chris Hardwick (@midnight, Nerdist) – Vaughn
Erin Yvette (The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us) – Sasha
Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Family Guy) – Vasquez
Dameon Clark (24, NCIS) – Handsome Jack
Unfortunately, Telltale didn’t exactly when Tales from the Borderlands will launch, though each episode will be priced at the standard $5 with point-and-click adventure fans having the option to purchase the game’s season pass.
Currently, there’s a lot of plates spinning in the Telltale studio, given that the esteemed company is developing a third season of The Walking Dead and launching Game of Thrones later this year. Nevertheless, we understand that Tales from the Borderlands will premiere by the year’s end across consoles, PC and mobile devices.
