Today we get the full theatrical trailer for Zookeeper, starring Kevin James. While James is usually funny, the film doesn’t look too promising. Eyeing a July 8th release date, the film looks pretty silly and while it may entertain the kiddies, I think I’ll be passing on this one. It also looks far too similar to the not so good Paul Blart: Mall Cop.
James’ role here isn’t too much of a stretch for him, seeing as it’s the same role he always plays, more or less. His physical comedy gags are getting old and the talking animals here just come off as creepy. I’m sure it will offer some tame and safe laughs for the whole family but I just don’t think this one is for me. Check out the trailer and plot summary below.
The animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes. Finding himself more comfortable with a lion than a lady, Griffin decides the only way to get a girl in his life is to leave the zoo and find a more glamorous job. The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk! To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship – animal style.
