I’ve seen the French comic strips about a boy and his white dog experiencing all kinds of adventures, from espionage to simply out-racing bad guys. The boy’s name was Tintin and the dog was called Snowy. The first main character’s name was outstanding, the second only appropriate. Imagine my jaw-dropping shock when I found out that three stories from the comic book series were the basis for a 3D movie coming out this year, with Steven Spielberg as its director.
A teaser trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn starring Jamie Bell, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, Andy Serkis, Mackenzie Crook, Tony Curran, Daniel Mays, Sebastian Roche, and Gad Elmaleh was released more than a week ago.
However, now an updated international version is revealing new scenes from the much-anticipated film. I’m curious about this performance capture 3D animation. It is said to be pretty outstanding. And if that and the prospect of another Spielberg project doesn’t arouse your own curiosity, then the new teaser trailer will.
The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will be released in European theaters on October 26, with a probable U.S. release on December 23.
