Featuring the support of two popular figures in the sport, Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo and Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez, R.B.I. Baseball will introduce a variety of new features this time around. Every team will now have their full roster supported, as well as their own authentic stadium. The title will also keep track of stats for each player and team and will feature online play.

Last year’s release of R.B.I. Baseball 14 should have been a joyous occasion. It was the first new entry in the classic series in 19 years, and could have been a nice retro experience. However, I was not a fan of the title when I originally reviewed the Xbox 360 release. It was a sloppy, bare bones release that was simply lacking in almost every significant way.

With that said, though, this year’s edition appears to rectify a number of problems I had. The lack of online play, which was eventually patched in, was a major issue, as well as the ugly graphics and stiff controls. I still like the idea of an old-school baseball title being released, so hopefully MLB Advanced Media can get their act together this time around.

R.B.I. Baseball 15 will launch this spring for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Steam, iOS, and Android. We will continue to have coverage of the title in the lead-up to its release, so stay tuned!
