Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland may exist as a mystery wrapped in an enigma at this time, but as we gear up to the sci-fi flick’s anticipated summer release, we’re beginning to learn more and more about what the director has cooked up and, in particular, the mystery behind the titular, utopian wonderland.
Case in point: this new-fangled international trailer. Given that Bird’s résumé The Incredibles and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the filmmaker has displayed an astute eye for stunning visual and indeed practical effects, making Tomorrowland the perfect candidate for his next outing.
The film orbits around Britt Robertson’s Casey, a young, optimistic teen with a burning curiosity for the unexplainable. Upon discovering an unusual pin that essentially acts as a conduit, whisking her away to the titular area, Casey soon sets out to discover the truth behind the enigmatic landmark. Although, it isn’t long before she discovers that, along with the jaded Frank (George Clooney), her role in the future is much bigger than first anticipated.
Also starring Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson, Tomorrowland will whisk moviegoers into the future when it arrives in theaters on May 22.
