With the blockbuster season in full swing, we’re fast approaching the release of several highly-anticipated movies, but also the worldwide premieres of many high-profile trailers. Warner is getting in on the action next month as Mad Max: Fury Road will roll out in theaters across the country with the first ever Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice teaser attached. Similarly, Disney is doubling down on Avengers: Age Of Ultron‘s expected numbers to unveil the second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
For those diehard fans who have shelled out to attend the Star Wars Celebration convention, you will be able to feast your eyes on the eagerly-awaited preview even earlier. Running from April 16-19, the event boasts a maelstrom of Star Wars-centric attractions, panels, and also the very first one-sheet poster for sequel. Of course, none of that even compares to a first look at the forthcoming feature’s next proper trailer. While a tentative rundown of what it’s rumored to contain hit the web last month, the emergence of a new report expands on that intel in greater detail.
According to the folks at MakingStarWars (via Slash Film), whose reputation for bagging solid scoops is unrivalled, the trailer is set to be incredibly action-packed.
Here’s a rundown of shots said to be included:
- The run time is just under 2 minutes, about 1:50 seconds.
- Han Solo, Princess Leia, R2-D2 and C-3PO are all in there.
- The planet of Yavin appears.
- Finn (John Boyega) with a blue lightsaber.
- A brief shot of the chrome Stormtrooper, possibly named Captain Phasma, played by Gwendoline Christie.
- Kylo Ren’s face is revealed.
- Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) shoot down a TIE fighter.
- Finn and Poe walking past a TIE Fighter.
- Multiple shots of Rey (Daisy Ridley).
- A shot of Poe Dameron, R2-D2, C-3PO, and a CGI character that may be “Rose” played by Lupita Nyong’o
- BB-8 in the back of an X-Wing.
- Kylo Ren’s Imperial Shuttle flies with TIE Fighters to a Star Destroyer.
- More Star Destroyers.
- The Millennium Falcon.
- X-wing Fighters in a V formation.
- Darth Vader’s helmet sitting on a podium.
- No Andy Serkis.
- No Luke Skywalker.
As is often the case with unverified information, we’d recommend approaching this raft of tidbits with caution. They may crop up for the first time in the film proper, or indeed in this next teaser. Wherever it is that Disney decides to reveal with this phenomenal stream of scenes, they’ll no doubt be cheered on by the franchise’s legions of supporters.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens worldwide on December 18. In the meantime, you can re-watch the first trailer above and let us know what you’re hoping to see in the second one via the comments section below.
