The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Set To Get Two “Massive” Expansions; Paid DLC Will Add 30 Hours Of Content

One thing that is immediately clear about The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is the threequel's gargantuan size. Taking place across a rich fantasy landscape, early reports have suggested that the realm will boast close to 200 hours of content when factoring in additional side-quests and the like. But what happens when the most passionate players burn through everything the game has to offer?

One thing that is immediately clear about The Witcher III: Wild Hunt is the threequel’s gargantuan size. Taking place across a rich fantasy landscape, early reports have suggested that the realm will boast close to 200 hours of content when factoring in additional side-quests and the like. But what happens when the most passionate players burn through everything the game has to offer?

Well, CD Projekt Red has answered that question today by unveiling two appropriately “massive” expansions for Wild Hunt in the form of Hearts of Stone along with Blood and Wine. The former of which will be released in October of 2015 and center on Geralt’s journey into No Man’s Land to complete a quest given to him by the mysterious Man of Glass. That’s not the only post-launch adventure for the White Wolf, however, as Blood and Wine – slated for early 2016 – will send our grizzled protagonist to the untainted rolling hills of Toussaint.

Both pieces of DLC will be bundled together with The Witcher III: Wild Hunt‘s season pass, available at $24.99. For those who wish to buy the content packs individually, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine will be priced at $9.99 and $19.99, respectively. Taken as one, the two expansions will bring about approximately 30 hours of all-new content for Witcher fans, and the studio’s mantra on paid-for DLC has been to ensure that the content is worth it in the first place.

“While we’re offering the Expansion Pass now, we want to make one thing clear: don’t buy it if you have any doubts. Wait for reviews or play The Witcher and see if you like it first. As always, it’s your call.”

Players can look forward to the conclusive chapter in Geralt of Rivia’s tale when The Witcher III: Wild Hunt lands on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 22. For more on the threequel, you can check out the first 15 minutes of gameplay that appeared online just yesterday.
