Back in 2010, when writer-director Tom Six unleashed the cinematic equivalent of having round-the-clock diarrhea upon the movie-going public, his rationale was unclear. Was The Human Centipede a campaign to beef up the low profile of a relatively humdrum insect? Or was it to see how much he could get away with onscreen in the name of ‘art’? One thing’s for sure, there was no way audiences were expecting a further two sequels based around a 100% medically inaccurate surgery and a 100% cinematically flaccid concept. None of that matters now, however, as Human Centipede Part 3 (Final Sequence) is aiming to rustle up more cultural complaint this summer. And to prepare you for that inevitable swirl of watercooler chatter, here’s the first trailer!
By and large, Six’s final entry in the trilogy appears to be another highly exploitative matter that hinges its excuse for brutality on the fact that these people are convicts. So, they deserve to to be treated this way! Clearly Six’s creative process chooses to forget the basic tenets of human rights. And why not? There’s no point letting moral guidelines ruin the chance of bringing a gigantic 500-person ass-to-mouth creation to the big screen, right?
In case the above teaser made the threequel’s story somewhat unclear, Entertainment Weekly has also published an official synopsis for the movie, which you can peruse at your leisure below. If you’re excited to catch the last part of the torture porn franchise, you’ve not got long to wait. Human Centipede Part 3 (Final Sequence) arrives on VOD and in theaters on May 22.
Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane.
Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.
