Bryan Singer Teases New Quicksilver Scene For X-Men: Apocalypse

By and large, the scene in last year's X-Men: Days of Future Past that struck the biggest chord with audiences was the kitchen sequence featuring Evan Peters' Quicksilver. Fans weren't pleased with the characters' look in early reveals from the film, but were blown away by his small prison break set piece.

When Bryan Singer first announced that he’d be bringing Quicksilver into X-Men: Days of Future Past, many thought it was a blatant slap in the face of Joss Whedon, who’s bringing the same character into the Avengers lineup with Age of Ultron. Yet, with only a few minutes of actual screentime, Quicksilver stole the show in DOFP and gave us one of the most memorable and creative film sequences in the history of the superhero genre.

By and large, the scene in last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past that struck the biggest chord with audiences was the kitchen sequence featuring Evan Peters’ Quicksilver. Fans weren’t pleased with the character’s look in early reveals from the film, but they were blown away by his small prison break set piece.

Thankfully Quicksilver will get an expanded role in next year’s X-Men: Apocalypse, meaning that Bryan Singer will have to find a way to up the ante when the character comes speeding his way into the fray. It’s unquestionably a tough job, but one Singer appears to be excited about, if his latest behind-the-scenes tease is any indication.

This week, the director took to Instagram once more, and posted a photo from his latest “day at the office:”

Those suspended in air via cables will undoubtedly be frozen in time (or at least appear that way, thanks to super speed effects), meaning that Quicksilver will resort to his old antics when Apocalypse hits theaters. His role in the film, and what the scene in question may entail remain a mystery for now, but with San Diego Comic-Con just a few weeks away and shooting currently in full swing, perhaps we’ll hear more information sooner rather than later.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will hit theaters on May 27th, 2016.
