Closing out Sony’s show-stopping press conference this evening was a brand new gameplay trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, which sees series protagonist Nathan Drake do what does best.
Built from the ground up with PlayStation 4 in mind, many are assuming that A Thief’s End will act as the swan song in Drake’s legacy. It was a demo not without its technical hiccups, though, which simultaneously validates the recent delay into 2016 and underlines Naughty Dog’s candid method of approach.
Alongside Drake for the gameplay clip is his partner in crime Sully, and we see the treasure-hunting pair stumble through a crowded marketplace before a firefight breaks out. In typical Uncharted fashion, the action from that point forth is relentless, with players interacting in set piece after set piece, culminating in a staggering bridge sequence. Scripted though it may be, there’s still much to marvel at included in the footage above.
[zerggaming]More so than anything else, the clip highlights the sheer scope of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Couple this with the wonderful lighting and nuanced character animation and you have a true technical powerhouse.
Surprisingly, Naughty Dog didn’t mention a release date for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, but we assume that Drake’s latest adventure will dive onto PlayStation 4 in the early stages of 2016.
