As we all collectively try to keep a lid on our excitement on the eve of Comic-Con – the San Diego event kicks off July 9 – Entertainment Weekly has debuted a trio of images for The Walking Dead season 6, which reunite some of the show’s most beloved characters in Glenn, Maggie and of course, Daryl Dixon.

These stills are but appetizers for the anticipated release of the maiden trailer, itself due to premiere during the TWD panel in a few days’ time. It appears as though not much time has lapsed – if any at all – between the closing shot of season 5 and these hot-off-the-presses images. All three of our weathered survivors sport their own war wounds, meaning we’ll surely be treated to an action-packed sizzle reel when SDCC gets in motion next week.

Last we checked, Rick Grimes and his ragtag crew were housed within the walls of Alexandria, though danger still lurks around every corner. From the screenshots above, it’s impossible to tell whether Steven Yeun and Lauren Cohan’s characters are taking aim at humans or The Walking Dead, and we’ll just have to let the rumor mill fire into overdrive until the first official trailer for season 6 premieres on July 10.

The Walking Dead will occupy Hall H at next week’s Comic-Con with a panel that will bring together some of the show’s biggest players from both sides of the camera, including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, and Lennie James – not to mention showrunner Scott M. Gimple and executive producer Robert Kirkman.

Season 6 will shuffle onto AMC on October 11.
