According to recent coverage by Entertainment Weekly – which included the spectacular unveiling of stunning still images from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice – the script for Justice League: Part One is already complete. Moreover, it is borne of the creative partnership between Snyder and Academy Award winning screenwriter Chris Terrio (Argo).

Having carried the script for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice across the finish line, Terrio has finished the script for Justice League: Part One, and will do the same for Justice League: Part Two, as Snyder explained the process he and Terrio have established.

“Chris would talk and I would draw it, and it was basically this weird mural of the movies with no words.”

The operative word here is “movies” – as in, more than one project. It seems these filmmakers have a clear vision of where these stories are going, and what they should be in the final analysis – and that kind of forward momentum only serves to increase the already fever-pitch anticipation surrounding the DC Cinematic Universe.

The key is continuity – while DC continues to seek interesting, talented writers and directors for its solo superhero movies, such as Wonder Woman, Snyder and Terrio hold the overall ‘team’ aspect of the DC universe in their capable, creative hands. Having already given over a significant amount of time to the endeavour, Snyder confirmed that he is in it for the long haul.

“It’ll be five years by the time the movie [Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice] comes out. And then, if everything goes to plan, it’ll be another five years of Justice League. I’ll be 10 years of superheroes by the end of this.”

It’s an ambitious level of commitment, but one that guarantees a film series of epic proportions.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will lay out the foundations for that series on March 25th 2016, with Justice League: Part One scheduled to hit cinemas on November 17th 2017.
