2015 has been quite a year for Krewella, seeing the Yousaf sisters completely rebrand, find a new sound, and battle hordes of internet hate. After a brilliant performance at Electric Daisy Carnival and insightful discussion at Insomniac’s EDMBiz, Krewella kept busy to film the video for their latest single, “Somewhere To Run.”
The music video takes fans on a ride through Las Vegas’ historic Fremont Street, the city’s staple wedding ceremonies, and unwelcome curbside encounters. The cinematic adventure seems to place Yasmine and Jahan in a troubled relationship, but they’re unable to leave each other despite the trying situations in which they find themselves.
The track itself is a pleasing departure from their other material, employing a twinge of string-supported 90’s pop and returning to an arpeggiated synth for the breakdown. Catch the visual accompaniment above, and don’t forget to grab Krewella’s “Somewhere To Run” now via iTunes.
