Alison Brie And Jason Sudeikis Bed Hop In Sleeping With Other People Red-Band Trailer

Alison Brie has proven time and time again her versatility. She's demonstrated her dedication to serious depictions in Mad Men and ability to throw down her comedic genius in Community, both of which scored her fans on the small screen. Her cinematic opportunities have somewhat rescinded that same breadth of character, often leaving her with meatless supporting roles. Thankfully, her luck is on the turn for her next feature, Sleeping With Other People, in which she co-stars with another gifted comedian: Jason Sudeikis.

In the movie, the pair play former college buddies who once hooked up for a one-night stand. Years later, Lainey (Brie) and Jake (Sudeikis) bump into one another, learning that they’re both sex-obsessed and have failed to ignite meaningful relationships. As they rekindle their friendship, they pledge to keep it platonic in spite of their true natures tempting them to do otherwise.

Whereas the last trailer leaned on the sweeter elements of Brie and Sudekis’ union, carefully skirting around the R-rating, the new preview dives into what the film’s title explicitly outlines. Flashes of both leads in various positions with various partners are threaded through the overriding romantic angle. There’s evidence here to suggest that Sleeping With Other People could easily snag the ‘best R-rated comedy of 2015’ honor, and we’ll find out for certain when the movie opens on September 11.

Can two serial cheaters get a second chance at love? After a one-night stand in college, New Yorkers Lainey (Alison Brie) and Jake (Jason Sudeikis) meet by chance twelve years later and discover they each have the same problem: because of their monogamy-challenged ways, neither can maintain a relationship. Determined to stay friends despite their mutual attraction, they make a pact to keep it platonic, a deal that proves easier said than done. Fresh, funny, and full of witty insights about modern love, this hilariously heartfelt film “is the rare rom-com that reminds us why we love them so much in the first place” (Time Out New York). Amanda Peet, Adam Scott, Natasha Lyonne, and Jason Mantzoukas co-star.
